We sweat the details so
you don't have to

Tying the knot is enough to plan without worrying about the catering. Our wedding catering team handles every part of the food side: menu design and tastings to setup, service, and cleanup. That way you and your partner can actually be present at your own wedding. We cater receptions of every size across the Greater Pittsburgh area, from intimate backyard ceremonies to 300-guest celebrations at venues we've worked at for years.

Food your guests will talk about at your anniversary party.

Wedding clients in their own words

Industry partners, brides and grooms, parents of the bride — real reviews from our valued customers.

As a wedding planner I have worked with this company many times and I refer them to ALL my clients. This team is wonderful, and they never disappoint. The food is amazing and always piping hot, which is a huge plus at weddings especially.

A Pittsburgh Wedding Planner Industry Partner · Multiple weddings

I was a mess, trying to plan my wedding with my family and bridal party in another state. Debbie was so helpful — any question I had, she was always ready to answer. The portions are huge — we had enough for the wedding, leftovers, AND took a large container to my husband’s firehall. Taste and value are out of this world.

Out-of-State Bride Wedding Reception

You did the food and hors d’oeuvres for my daughter’s wedding and people raved about it for months. Food was fantastic — the Bruschetta was the best I ever had!

Wedding-day questions

Frequently asked questions

What couples and their families ask most often when planning a Cooked Goose wedding.

Why should we choose Cooked Goose for our wedding?

The number one piece of feedback we hear when reviewing wedding days with brides is “we didn’t even think of that!” And why would you? You don’t throw a wedding every weekend.

We’ve been providing wedding catering services for over 35 years, and our exceptionally trained staff helps with the critical details that tend to get overlooked by the untrained eye — from your tasting to your first dance. The goal is to give you less to worry about on your big day.

How far in advance should we book?

Most weddings are booked 12–18 months in advance, especially for popular spring and fall dates. That said, we’ve also pulled off weddings with only three weeks’ notice when our calendar allowed — so it’s always worth asking.

To check availability for your date, call 412-258-5944 or send a note through the inquiry form below.

What is the process when catering a wedding?

An Event Specialist will gather every detail of your day — venue layout, timing, dietary needs, beverage interaction, cocktail-hour staging, dessert timing, and the dozens of small logistical questions you won’t think of yourself. We’ve catered weddings as small as 30 guests and as large as 5,000, so the process scales to fit your event without losing the personal touch.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Certainly. We have dietary- and allergy-friendly items for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other common restrictions. Please note we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination will not occur in our facility or during transport, so guests with severe allergies should be aware.

For weddings, we recommend collecting dietary needs with your RSVPs and finalizing the count with us at the 7-day-out mark.

Do you offer on-site chefs?

Yes — depending on your wedding and our availability, we’ll determine whether an on-site chef suits your needs (carving station, omelet station for a brunch wedding, action stations during cocktail hour, etc.). Chefs do require an event assistant.

Do you have recommended wedding venues?

We do. We’ve been the preferred caterer at dozens of Pittsburgh-area wedding venues, and we’re in new venues nearly every weekend. Whether you’ve already chosen your venue or you’re still scouting, ask us — we likely know the kitchen, the parking, and the catering rules already.

How do we pay, and when?

A $100 non-refundable deposit secures your wedding date. We require a credit card on file, but for the balance we prefer checks — either mailed in prior to the event or handed to the lead staff member on the day of.

The full balance is due the day of your wedding.

What about gratuity and service fees?

Full-service weddings are subject to a 15% service fee, which is separate from gratuity. Additional labor fees may apply depending on guest count, venue, and final menu.

Gratuity is never expected, but is always greatly appreciated by the team that sets up, serves, refills, and cleans up your wedding.

Can we change the menu after booking?

Plans change — we get it. Orders can be changed up to 7 days prior to your wedding to ensure our inventory orders meet the needs of your event. Final guest count, menu adjustments, and dietary additions need to be locked in at that point.
